What are the 5 everyday items that you can’t live without?

Lip balm, essential oil, shades, water bottle and earphones.

How do these items help to improve your lifestyle?

  • Shades: Protect my sensitive eyes from harsh sunlight.
  • Lip balm: Moisturises my lips whenever it is dry and it smells so amazing.
  • Water: Can’t live without it.
  • Essential oil: Helps me freshen up whenever I’m feeling light-headed or tired.
  • Bluetooth earphones: Enjoy music on the go

Do these items reflect your personality too?

Very much so.

Is there a story behind any of these items?

The shades are from a good friend of mine and we like to share things. The lip balm is made locally with natural ingredients by Rough Beauty and works really well for my sensitive skin.

How would you define style?

My style is constantly changing and evolving. It is a self-expression of each stage of my life.

Where do you gain inspiration from?

Travelling and being exposed to new sights, tastes and sounds. Meeting new people and exploring new places have always been my dose of fresh energy.

Do you see yourself as an artist?

If I had to categorise myself, then yes, I do see myself as an artist.

How do you find a balance between everything that you are currently working on?

I remind myself to take breaks in between, and always tend to my body, mind and soul before anything else.

What is your typical day like?

Cooking food, Yoga, resting, creating, playing and loving! 🙂

What are the struggles of being environmentally conscious in an industry that destroys the environment?

There will always be struggles, but whatever happens within the industry is beyond our individual control. The least we can do is to play our part and stay positive!

How do you record your ideas?

I have many different notebooks to record my ideas. Putting ink on paper is truly an exhilarating feeling. I believe ideas need to be drawn by hand in order for it to succeed.

How do you decide your outfit for the day?

Depending on my mood, the weather and the occasion.

How has your lifestyle evolved throughout your career?

It has changed a lot… from being totally unaware to having a sense of awareness.

What is in your bag currently?

Some cash, keys, eye drops and a lighter.

What is more important: form or function?

Both! You need to know the function before creating its form.

When and why did you decide to start teaching?

It happened a few years ago. I felt like I had a lot to give back, so I just went for it.

What is your greatest achievement so far?

Being able to work towards my dream and overcoming every obstacle that came my way.

What is the ultimate goal for you?

To be contented with what I have.

Any advice for the new generation starting their career in fashion?

Create more, destroy less. And always try your very best!
