What to Expect at the Newly Reopened I12 Katong Retail Mall
Keppel Land’s wholly-owned retail mall, i12 Katong, is reopening in phases, following major asset enhancement works that commenced in early 2020. All 180 stores will progressively open in the lead up to the mall’s grand opening in March 2022.
The mall will feature a number of firsts and welcome a portfolio of established lifestyle brands along with a refreshing mix of new concepts, dedicated art and sustainability zones, as well as a host of future-ready amenities and solutions for a holistic retail ecosystem, offering shoppers seamless and personalised shopping experiences. Harnessing the synergies of the Keppel Group, Keppel Land has also collaborated with M1 to transform i12 Katong into a 5G-enabled shopping mall.
Reflecting Keppel Land’s commitment to sustainability, the refreshed i12 Katong incorporates energy-efficient features such as LED lighting as well as water-efficient fixtures. i12 Katong will also be installing electric vehicle chargers in its carpark, in support of Singapore’s target to phase out internal combustion engine vehicles by 2040. In addition, i12 Katong is encouraging its shoppers and tenants to join its sustainability journey by promoting responsible disposal and recycling methods. The mall will be installing a food digestor to break down food waste, which will be converted into compost or liquid waste. The mall has also implemented a waste recycling system for electronic waste, glass, metal, paper and plastics.
i12 Katong will be a one-stop lifestyle destination offering a multi-sensory shopping experience, including a broad selection of stores across food and beverage, health and wellness, family entertainment, fashion and beauty, and more. Shoppers can look forward to returning anchor tenants such as CS Fresh, Golden Village and United World Preschool, together with a contemporary mix of new tenants such as Huggs Collective, IPPUDO, Janice Wong Singapore, lululemon, Malaysia Boleh, Mr Woofles, Prive, PS.Café, Re.juve and The Eton Academy. Come 1Q 2022, Pop Palette—a specially curated fashion lifestyle zone, and Bistro Bytes—a kitchen dedicated to expanding the variety of food options at different price points while offering visitors convenient access for on-demand delivery, takeaways or dining-in—will welcome shoppers and elevate the shopping and lifestyle experience at i12 Katong.
The mall will also welcome a number of “firsts”, including Singapore’s first medical coworking space, Golden Village’s music lounge—a new concept for the brand in Singapore, lululemon’s first store in the Eastern region of Singapore, as well as Mr Woofles, Singapore’s first dog club and daycare situated within a mall.
i12 Katong’s retail space is set to feature a series of art exhibits in collaboration with local art gallery, Sound of Art. Themed ‘In the Beginning’, the exhibition celebrates the vibrant and diverse works of emerging and established artists and designers across Asia. These unique art pieces will also be available for purchase.
The mall is currently collaborating with local design collective, PLUS Group, to design and create a sculpture which uses sustainable materials such as FSC-certified and plantable paper. The sculpture, to be located at the main entrance of the mall, will be unveiled at i12 Katong’s grand opening in March 2022.
